چکیده

Purpose To describe the distribution of ocular biometry and refraction in Japanese adults. Design Cross-sectional analysis a prospective cohort study. Participants A total 9850 individuals participated first follow-up Nagahama Prospective Cohort for Comprehensive Human Bioscience (the Study) conducted between 2013 2016. were 34 80 years age. Methods All participants underwent axial length (AL; millimeters), anterior chamber depth (ACD; corneal diameter (white to white; central thickness (CCT; micrometers) measurement (IOL Master; Carl Zeiss Meditec, Dublin, CA) (spherical equivalent [SE]; diopters [D]) curvature (CC; millimeters) (ARK-530A; Nidek, Aichi, Japan). Distribution these biometric parameters prevalence myopia, high extreme myopia summarized. Main Outcome Measures refraction. Results After standardization national population 2015, estimates mean AL SE 24.21 mm –1.44 D, respectively. Estimates CC, diameter, CCT, ACD 7.69 mm, 12.01 543.96 ?m, 3.21 age gender, (SE, ?–0.5 D) ?–6.0 49.97% 7.89%, Approximately 70% younger (34–59 age) showed whereas was observed approximately 10%. Although number with or higher groups, more phenotypes remained stable across all ages, especially women. Axial than 30 only older women (n = 5 [0.05%]). Conclusions We detailed distributions various using large general cohort. Prevalences from through 2016 those earlier studies, which reflects recent environmental change. However, constant ages suggests genetic predisposition phenotype.

Ethnic variations in myopia and ocular biometry among adults in a rural community in China: the Yunnan minority eye studies.

PURPOSE To determine the prevalence of myopia and ocular biometry in population-based samples of ethnic Yi and Han people living in an inland rural community in China. METHODS A random cluster sampling strategy was used to select ethnic Han and Yi adults aged 50 years or older living in Yunnan. Refractive error was determined by subjective refraction and ocular biometric parameters, including...
